Job Summary:

The Greenkeeper will report directly to the Director of Agronomy, Golf Course Superintendent, and/or the Assistant Superintendent(s). The Greenkeeper will assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the golf course, helping to meet the high expectations placed upon the Grounds Department by membership. This will include, but not be limited to, mowing greens, approaches, and tees, raking bunkers, string trimming, fly-mowing, and hand-watering. The Greenkeeper I position is a full-time seasonal position on the Grounds Department Staff from beginning of April through the end of October. The Greenkeeper must be punctual, reliable, possess the ability to follow oral and written instruction, and work hard in a fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities:

• Safely operate equipment used to mow greens, approaches, tees, and intermediate, string-trimmers, and fly-mow equipment.
• Hand-water with a hose where/as instructed.
• Assist where needed during aerification process, applying soil amendments, general core cleanup, or operating aerifiers.

Employment Requirements:

• Ability to move heavy objects up to 50lbs individually using team lift techniques for objects weighing more than 50lbs.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or state identification card
• Pass a company required background check
• Ability to commit to an every other weekend schedule, 12 days on 2 days off, and mandatory tournament and aerification schedule
• Early morning shifts, start times as early as 5:30AM, working 8-hour shift; Weekend shifts are half day shifts beginning as early as 5:30AM
